Healthcare
Every industry and profession has specific technology needs that it confronts daily. We’ve managed to name a few of the more common here, but we are prepared to find a solution to fit whatever requirements you have.

Meeting HIPAA Regulations
Your office must secure patient records and access to Protected Health Information (PHI) in accord with HIPAA compliance. Your practice must implement both physical and computer safeguards to eliminate or minimize the possibility of unauthorized access while at the same time being flexible enough to allow patients the right to obtain their records quickly.

Securing/Destroying Patient PHI
As patients begin to demand more health information online, the pressure to provide secure access to specific patient information will also increase. Security can be improved greatly by the use of up-to-date firewall and encryption technology to control access to sensitive information.
The final Rule adopting HIPAA standards for the security of electronic health information was adopted by the United States Department of Health and Human Services February 13, 2003. A specific section, 164.310 Physical safeguards, was added to cover the disposal of electronic PHI. To facilitate this, drives require wiping prior to reuse or reassignment, and before a drive is discarded, sold, or donated. Drives are also commonly wiped as a risk management measure and in order to comply with various government and other regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.

Internal Databases
An internal high performance database server using proven, industry accepted and acclaimed database technology is crucial for all your data collection, storage, retrieval, and management needs.

Internet Connectivity
Small businesses require economical connectivity solutions that are reliable and nearly always available. For many companies, xDSL or cable solutions will meet your needs. For those businesses requiring additional bandwidth and reliability, we will be able to meet your needs with fractional T-1’s and up. We will work with you to determine what your connectivity needs are and then work with the various vendors to get the best package for you.

Secure Web Presence with Secure Email and XML Capability
Patients are demanding access to health information, higher levels of service, and control over their personal information. Healthcare networks must be able to handle growing amounts of data and deliver quality information anytime, anywhere to any device. A professionally designed and built web site makes a positive statement about your practice not only by providing consumer health information and education but by offering a secondary means by which a patient can quickly and easily communicate with you.
Conversely, consumers will expect you to communicate with them in a timely manner. Email or instant messaging gives you options to communicate with them in a timely and secure manner. Secure email transmission with reliable receipt confirmation and returned undeliverable technology can help ensure patient confidentiality.
XML (Extensible Mark-up Language) has been called the data sharing language of the future. XML uses tags similar to most mark-up languages but differs from HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language, the standard web design language) in that it can actually share data with other entities on the web.

Vendor Management
The IT outsourcing market is growing rapidly; so rapidly in fact that it can be difficult for healthcare organizations to keep track of the viable alternatives available to them. Choices can equal confusion. However, sifting through the many IT vendors and finding the one that serves the specific needs of your office takes time away from your patients. By evaluating your needs and combining our technical expertise we can pinpoint the right vendor for your specific needs while leaving you free to mind your own business. We will even manage the ongoing relationship and interaction with the vendors if you would like, thus making sure you do not have to deal with any confusing or technical questions or problems.
