RTP Computer Services, Inc. Supports National Guard and Reservists
RTP, NC — September 15, 2004 — RTP Computer Services, Inc. was proud to co-sponsor the celebration of our North Carolina National Guardsmen and Reservists and their employers on September 14, 2004 at the Triangle Town Center Mall in Raleigh, NC.
The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, hosted the event where all Triangle and eastern North Carolina employers were invited to sign a Statement of Support for North Carolina’s National Guardsmen and Reservists. Mr. Bud Brown, ESGR State Chairman, compared our Guardsmen and Reservists to the “Minute Men” of the Revolutionary War, who answered the call to defend our nation and our way of life.
During the lunchtime event, ESGR offered employers information on the USERRA Laws and gave advice on the management of employees who have been called into active duty.
ESGR also displayed “America’s Car,” a NASCAR show car, during the festivities and Triangle residents were all invited to come sign several huge “Support Our Troops” banners and have their pictures taken with the car.
The event was also sponsored by Raleigh Wake Human Resources Association (RWHRMA) and Career Pro of NC, Inc.
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense volunteer organization. ESGR provides free education, consultation, and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees.
